His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah inaugurated on Tuesday the Al-Shaheed Park project in Sharq area.
His Highness the Amir was greeted upon arrival by Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah and Chairman of the Financial and Administrative Affairs department at the Amiri Diwan Abdulaziz Saud Ishaq.
His Highness toured the park and listened to a briefing from Ishaq on the project facilities which show the cultural landmarks of the State of Kuwait.
His Highness was accompanied by Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Khalid Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah.
The Al-Shaheed Park, previously known as Al-Hizam Al-Akhthar Park, is erected on a 220,000 square-meter area and includes the monument of the Constitution, which was erected on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Constitution of the State of Kuwait, Peace Park, the Martyr Museum which depicts the most important battles of the State of Kuwait (Al-Riqqa, Al-Sareef and Jahra), in addition to fountains, waterfalls, lakes, trees, an open theater, a museum for Kuwaiti plants and wild birds and a laboratory for rare wild plants.
