His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa today attended the opening of the horse endurance season at the Bahrain International Endurance Village. He was received on arrival by Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Honorary President and Royal Endurance Team Captain His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, BREEF President HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al-Khalifa and BREEF board members, who welcomed HM the King’s visit, which reflected keenness on supporting the equestrian sport. HH Shaikh Nasser briefed HM the King on different phases of the 120-km race and the 80-km qualification race, in addition to the number of participants. He outlined BREEF-planned preparations and arrangements for Bahraini riders to compete in different races lined up for this year. HM the King wished the riders every success, commending the remarkable performance which they had achieved in regional, Arab and international championships. HM the King expressed thanks to HH Shaikh Nasser and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) First Deputy Chairman and Al-Khaldia Stables Captain HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and BREEF President and members for their efforts to promote the endurance races. HM the King wished riders further achievements, commending their results which reflected their advanced level. He also wished the participants and organizers every success.
