His Majesty King Abdullah II received at Al Husseiniya Palace on Thursday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who conveyed to His Majesty the greetings of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The meeting focused on means to forge closer investment and economic cooperation between Jordan and China which marked this year the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between them.
It also dealt with investment opportunities in the Kingdom’s vital sectors, mainly tourism, phosphate, potash, energy, transport, as well as the establishment of a Jordanian-Chinese technical university and encouraging Chinese businessmen and tourists to visit the Kingdom.
His Majesty and the Chinese minister also discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, mainly the peace process and the Syrian crisis.
The King and the Chinese minister affirmed the importance of intensifying efforts to find comprehensive political solutions to the Middle East crises that restore security and stability to its peoples.
The talks also dealt with regional and international efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic approach as terrorism threatens global peace and stability.
The Chinese minister voiced his country’s appreciation of Jordan’s pivotal role under His Majesty’s leadership, to enhance stability in the region and clarify the true image of Islam.
The meeting was attended by the Royal Court chief and the minister of foreign and expatriates affairs
