His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday started aworking visit to USA by meeting with investment leaders from US Angel InvestmentGroup in San Francisco who are interested in supporting entrepreneurs and start-up projects in the world.During the meeting , which focused on means of enhancing bilateral economicrelations between the private sectors, the king called American businessmen to visitJordan and get acquainted with its investment environment.The King delivered a speech in the Innovative Jordan Conference hosted by theUniversity of California in Berkeley.The speech highlighted available opportunities in the ICT sector and electroniccontent that made the Kingdom a pioneer centre in this field regionally andinternationally.The king said that”ICT is only one of the industries that benefits from Jordan’sposition as the gateway to the 350 million people of the Middle East and NorthAfrica. MENA consumers speak one language, Arabic. More than 70 percent are 30 oryounger. It is a market ripe for growth and under-penetrated by U.S. firms. AndJordan’s tech-proficient, bilingual work force puts you in prime position to reachthese consumers.”On his part , Chancellor of the University of California, Berkeley, Nicholas B. Dirksasserted that the university and especially SkyDeck incubator which is a model forstartup and business incubation will provide all possible support to Jordanianpioneering companies to help them in developing their projects.The king also met, on the sidelines of the conference, with participating JordanianAcademics, investors and businessmen who successfully invested in the US andcalled them to benefit the national economy through their experience.
