Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla AlKhalifa officially launched on Sunday the revamped edition of the Identity Card services on the national portal (Bahrain.bh), in the presence of MOI officials.
He said that launching these eServices were introduced in order to facilitate public services to citizens and is considered as a proud achievement.
He pointed at the importance of increasing the use of technology in various initiatives as well as services provided to citizens in line with new concepts and modern applications specialized in completing a range of government transactions. He further added that such direction is considered as a positive step which contributes in developing and facilitating the delivery of public services to citizens.
Besides, saving of government expenditures and rationalization while improving the efficiency of performance.
iGA Chief Executive Mohamed Ali AlQaed expressed thanks and appreciation to the Interior Minister for his wise directives to achieve the authority strategy.
He also expressed pride in the facilities the authority provides to citizens through the eServices that are in line with the utilization of technologies and modern systems.
He also indicated authority’s continuous keenness in achieving excellence of the upcoming generation within the government services and delivering high-quality services efficiently in collaboration with all stakeholders.
The revamped bundle of ID card services, available on the national portal, are featured in a simple, user-friendly design that comprises most of the services offered in branches. Services include ID Card Renewal, Replace Lost or Damaged, Domestic Workers Issuance, Children Below 4 years Issuance, Newborn Distinctive ID Issuance and Appointments Booking and Enquiry.
Since the provision of the ID cards on Bahrain.bh in February until end of last September; more than 50,000 transactions were conducted and a financial amount – reaching more than BD300,000 has been collected.
