Housing Minister Moustafa Madbouli inspected on Sunday traffic axes in New Cairo City and under-construction projects in the new Administrative Capital.
The minister first checked on the final stages of El Tesseen street tunnel that is carried out by Orascom at a total cost of 70 million pounds.
The tunnel includes three lanes in each direction to ease traffic congestion on Teseen street.
The tunnel is to be operational in January.
The minister also examined under-construction projects in the administrative capital, calling for setting a timetable to finalize the establishment of the residential neighborhood as soon as possible.
