H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region today visited the Liwa Date Festival, organized by Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority. Sheikh Hamdan praised the festival's huge success, thanks to the support given by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and General H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to the farmers and to palm tree as a national treasure. Sheikh Hamdan toured the different pavilions of the festival which is witnessing an intensive presence of visitors availing from the weekend holiday and visiting the most prominent heritage activities on world level. The 8th edition of the festival is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs. The festival is sponsored and supported by a large number of governmental and private establishments as part of their support toward promoting the UAE's original cultural heritage, including ADNOC the main sponsor, and Al Dhahra Agricultural Company the Golden sponsor, and Fu'a Palm Tree Development and Growing Company, in addition to festival partners being the office of the representative of Ruler in the Western Region, Western Region Municipality, Western Region Police, Environment Authority "Abu Dhabi", Western Region Development Council, Abu Dhabi Health Authority, Transportation Department, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, Abu Dhabi Distribution Company, Wastes Management Center in Abu Dhabi, and Farmers' Services Center in Abu Dhabi.
