The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met with the Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, David Satterfield, and the Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs, Tina Kaidaow,
on the sidelines of his participation in the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pride in the strong historic relations with the United States, hailing the progress of these relations at all levels to achieve the interests of both countries and people.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs commended the speech delivered the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to the United Nations General Assembly, which demonstrated his comprehensive vision regarding the security and stability of the world and addressed the various challenges facing the international community.
The Minister also expressed thanks to the Government of the United States for its approval of the sale of F-16 aircrafts to Bahrain, which proves its commitment to support its allies and reflects the close strategic partnership between the two countries which aims at reinforcing regional and international peace and security.
For their part, Mr. David Satterfield and Mrs. Tina Kaidnaw valued the strong friendly Bahraini-American relations, and the development of joint cooperation in the political, military and economic fields.
They affirmed the continuation of joint coordination regarding the issues of the region, voicing their support to the constructive efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain towards maintaining security and stability in the region.
