Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi on Sunday received the head of the US House’s Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and the accompanying delegation.
Safadi voiced Jordan’s keenness to promote relations and partnership with the United States to achieve peace, security and stability in the region.
He praised the US economic support to Jordan that helps the Kingdom to address the economic repercussions of regional crises.
The minister and the US team also discussed the situation in the Middle East and efforts to solve regional crises.
Safadi hailed the determination of US President Donald Trump to solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, adding that Jordan will not spare any effort to help in achieving permanent peace on the basis of the two-solution.
The minister also reviewed efforts to counter terrorism, adding that the Kingdom is engaged in the war against terrorism to protect its security and stability and defend common human values.
The US official voiced keenness to forge closer ties and partnership with Jordan, and praised the Kingdom’s efforts to bring about peace and stability in the region.
