Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met Sunday with visiting Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Iyad Madani.
The meeting took up means of boosting cooperation between Egypt and the organization to face present challenges as well as the developments in Syria and Libya, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
They also discussed the coming Sweden visit by the OIC’s Al Quds committee, which is led by Egypt, the current chair of the OIC summit, the spokesman said.
Egypt will hand over the OIC’s three-year rotating helm to Turkey during the next summit in Istanbul in May.
