Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), stated that the UAE leadership and its people were proud of their brave soldiers who were helping their brothers in Yemen to regain their legitimate rights from those undermining its security and stability, while contributing towards reconstruction efforts in the country.
She made the statement on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, which she spent with the UAE Armed Forces personnel in Yemen, and the Arab Coalition forces from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Sudan and Yemen. As part of an initiative of the wise leadership, the speaker of the FNC headed a high-level delegation of ministers and FNC members, officials and media personalities, which spent the first day of Eid with the soldiers.
She conveyed Eid al-Fitr greetings, blessings and appreciation to the UAE soldiers in Yemen from the wise leadership, namely President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.
Wishing the soldiers a festive and safe Eid, she said, "God willing, our Eid will be when we celebrate your return to our country, with flags of victory, honour and pride."
She further remarked, "We, the people of the UAE, your fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, all are forever grateful to you for enabling us to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in a safe and stable environment. Thanks to our wise leadership and to you, our brave soldiers, we feel secure. We appreciate your efforts, honourable defence and great sacrifices that you are making on all fronts despite difficulties to enable us to be secure and safe."
"You are celebrating Eid al-Fitr away from your families to enable us to celebrate the occasion safely with our families and loved ones. We have come here and are honoured to spend this occasion with you. We want you to know that our hearts are with you, you are always in our prayers, and you make our Eid joyful. You, the sons of the UAE, the soldiers of our Armed Forces are our source of pride and honour. We hope you attain success. Each and every loyal Emirati feels proud and safe because you, our brave soldiers and loyal sons, are defending the country and sacrificing your lives while showing your loyalty to the leadership."
She conveyed her gratitude to the members of the Arab Coalition forces for their efforts and sacrifices for the Gulf nations and the Arab people, so as to ensure their safety and security, and support the people of brotherly Yemen.
Al Qubaisi further stressed theses forces had the appreciation and gratitude of all Emiratis, as they were the most honourable people, giving and sacrificing for the nation’s cause. Their sacrifices will not be forgotten, especially those martyrs whose sacrifices have gone down in the annals of the country’s history. She greeted the families of the martyrs for their sacrifices on the occasion of Eid.
