Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker inaugurated on Sunday the 26th session of the international exhibition for electricity and energy (electrics - Solartk) at the Cairo International Convention Center.

Held under the auspices of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the inauguration saw a host of dignitaries from Egypt, Africa and Middle East.

The expo displays the latest technologies achieved by Egypt in the electrical equipment and energy industry, Shaker said, adding that it is foreseen to have a positive impact on supporting and upgrading domestic manufacturing along with increasing exports.

World's latest solar energy technologies and mega energy storage units will be featured during "Solartk" exhibition, which is dedicated to solar energy and has wide foreign participation, the minister noted.

As many as 210 Egyptian and international enterprises and companies are taking part in the exhibition, including 145 foreign companies from 18 countries.

The mammoth technological gathering aims at luring more investments to Egypt with regard to photovoltaic panels manufacturing, batteries as well as installation kits.

Also, it comes within the frame work of government's ongoing efforts to expand the use of clean energy, encouraging local industry along with luring investments to the country's energy sector.
