Dar Al-Ifta is ready to dispatch a delegation to its Greek counterpart to train preachers there and provide all aspects of support to Muslims in Greece, Egypt’s Mufti Shawki Allam said Wednesday.
Allam’s remarks came during a meeting with a high-level delegation from the Iftaa and Awqaf body in Greece, currently in Egypt to discuss boosting religious cooperation.
The mufti stressed the strong historic ties and the cultural convergence between the two countries, adding that Cairo spared no efforts to communicate with the Muslim communities abroad.
He pointed out that the Egyptian Dar Al-Ifta’s website and Facebook page received questions in 10 different languages to be answered.
The Greek delegation praised Dar Al-Ifta’s efforts for combating terrorism and extremism along with the efforts of training preachers.
