A delegation of the Egyptian popular diplomacy has left Cairo for Khartoum on Thursday on a visit that seeks to promote people interactions and activate cultural tourism between the two countries.
Chief of Cairo branch of Sudanese Dongola Association for Nubian Culture and Heritage Set el Banat Hasan said the delegation includes 24 journalists, scholars, businessmen, officials from various domains.
In an exclusive interview with Middle East News Agency (MENA), Hassan said the visit aims at activating cultural tourism and promoting Egyptian-Sudanese popular ties.
The delegation will visit touristic sites in Sudan and meet with Egyptian ambassador in Khartoum and Sudanese transport minister.
Al Gomhuria newspaper's deputy editor-in-chief Ahmed Yosef, who is also a member of the association, appreciated its role in cementing popular relations between the two neighbors, who share the same language and religion and common destiny.
