A delegation of the Egyptian House of Representatives under its Speaker Ali Abdel Aal will take part in meetings of the Inter-Parliamentary Union that will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, on October 24-27.
A report by the Union has asserted that Egypt is one of the white list countries regarding the respect of human rights and that there are several Egyptian laws establishing the respect of human rights.
The report that will be discussed at the Union's general assembly 135th session indicated that the Egyptian parliament has an honorable record regarding the respect of rights of parliamentarians.
More than 700 MPs from 138 countries will take part in the meetings for talks about the role of parliaments in standing up to human rights violations.
