Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met upon his arrival here late on Monday with German National Security Adviser Christoph Heusgen, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid said in press statements on Tuesday.
The closed-door talks took up several issues related to enhancing bilateral relations in the coming phase, added the spokesman.
The two sides focused on the recent developments in Syria and Libya along with tension in relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran and means of containing this tension, said the spokesman.
The German official underlined the key role played by Egypt in efforts to contain these crises, added the spokesman.
