H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, handed over the Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart Government Programme flag to the Road and Transport Authority, RTA, as its "RTA Smart Bus Shelters Initiative" had won the public award category at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Award for Smart Government.
RTA, which won the award following a poll on Twitter, held from 18th December, 2016, to 8th January, 2017, will hoist the flag at its building for a year.
Speaking on the occasion, the Dubai Crown Prince said getting customers involved to improve services is a sign of governmental leadership as it shows that the real indicator of the government’s performance improvement is public happiness.
The smart shelter offers a wide spectrum of services for commuters, including buying and topping up NOL cards, topping up mobile phones for local and international calls, paying bills of public and private entities, both locally and globally, recharging mobile phones and smart kiosk
