Kuwait's Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al Jarallah left on Wednesday for Malaysia, leading a Kuwaiti delegation for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) emergency meeting on Thursday.
The meeting is scheduled to discuss violations committed against the Rohingya minority of Myanmar.
On Tuesday, OIC Special Envoy for Myanmar Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar said that "Malaysia proposed the meeting because of the urgency of the matter, and not because we want to interfere in Myanmar's internal affairs.
The main objective was to create protection for the ethnic minority, whose rights as citizens have been denied, he added.
The ongoing troubles in the Rakhine state had caused thousands of Rohingya to flee Myanmar with reports of atrocities, including rape and murder.
