Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, on Bahrain’s being elected as full-fledged member of the International Labour Organisation (ILO)’s Team of Governments for the period 2017-2020.
The ILO governments team was elected on Monday at the United Nations Geneva-based premises during the ILO’s 106th Session held on June 4-16.
The Kingdom’s achievement follows the previous alternating membership spanning the term 2014-2017 that reflects the growing trust and place of Bahrain internationally a as well as recognition and appreciation by the ILO member states of Bahrain’s efforts and successful achievements in the field of labour reforms, boosting the workers’ gains and development of national labour-related legislations in accordance with international standards.
The achievement also reflects the leadership’s support to employers and employees and enhanced social dialogue between the three parties of production, namely the government, employers and employees.
