Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb hailed Egypt’s ties with Bahrain as historical and distinguished.
During a meeting with former Bahraini information minister and special adviser at the Bahraini Royal Court Samira Ragab, Tayyeb said the situation in the Arab and Islamic worlds require unified Arab efforts to protect youths from falling victims to perverted intellectual movements aiming to destabilize the region.
Al Azhar is ready to offer support to Bahrain in the education and Dawaa fields and train Bahraini clerics on fighting extremist and sectarian thoughts, he said.
