Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa returned here on Wednesday after several-day visit to the UAE.
During the visit, he participated in a forum held in Abu Dhabi on boosting peace in Muslim communities.
The forum, attended by 350 scholars and intellectuals from around the world, discussed the possibility of creating a strong Islamic trend to combat extremism and violence ideologies adopted by some groups.
Speaking at the forum, Gomaa asserted that Islamic countries seek to draw up a charter that promotes the concept of citizenship and stresses exchanged rights between citizens and the State.
Developing such charter would help consolidate unity among Arab countries, he underlined.
