Bahrain’s Ambassador to Turky, Dr. Ibrahim Yussef Al-Abdulla has taken part in the Open-Ended Extraordinary Meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)’s Executive Committee on the latest developments in Al-Aqsa, held here recently.
During the meeting, the ambassador gave a speech in which he stressed the need to adopt an effective and advanced strategy towards Al-Quds (Jerusalem), and developing practical executive mechanisms in cooperation with the International Community to preserve the city’s spiritual aspect, Islamic and Christian identity, Arab identity, as well as its holy sites and civilisational heritage.
He also called for the need to activate and intensify joint Islamic action, and to reach a just solution to the Palestinian issue according to the initiative presented by Saudi Arabia during the Arab Summit in Lebanon.
The ambassador also tackled Israel’s systematic violations in Al=-Quds and holy sites there, stressing that the cessation of tension requires Israel to maintain the status quo, which means its cancellation of all illegal actions and abidance by international legitimacy’s resolutions.
Concluding his statement, the ambassador stressed that a lot has to be done by OIC in order for it to achieve a strategy, lauding the cohesion of all segments of the Palestinian society.
He also called OIC to strengthen its support to the Palestinian society.
