A security official of the International Police Organization (Interpol) stressed here Friday the effective role of Kuwait and the security agencies in combating cyber crime, money laundering and narcotics.Head of coordination of the national central offices in the Middle East and North Africa\'s sub-division, Ali Mohammad Al-Ali, told Kuwait News Agency on sidelines of the 35th Conference of Arab Police and Security, that Kuwait is an active member of the organization and has an active role in exchange of security information with the organization and extradition.Al-Ali added that the sub-division conducts coordination with all 190 member states in all criminal cases, pointing out that there is -- in every Arab country -- a national center for Interpol which is considered to be a link between the countries. The sub-division coordinates with the International Criminal Tribunal, he said, pointing out that it participated in the support of many international investigations, most notably the assassination of leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) Mahmoud Mabhouh in Dubai last year. The international department at the Interpol at the administration of criminal and implementation of external communications in Kuwait, under the Ministry of Justice, has issued arrest warrants against 1,395 suspected criminals of all nationalities last year.
