Sheikh Ahmad bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation and President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), yesterday launched the logo of the inaugural UAE National Sports Day, an initiative launched by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, with the theme "The UAE Brings Us Together."
The design of the logo is inspired by the colours of the UAE national flag and symbolises harmony between the country's seven emirates.
The country's first National Sports Day will take place on 2nd December– coinciding with the 44th National Day celebrations.
The launch of the logo came during a meeting chaired by Sheikh Ahmed and attended by the team in charge of implementing the initiative, including Dr Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Health, chairman of the Board of the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare and first deputy chairman of the NOC; Arif Al Awani, Deputy Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Sports Council; Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Executive Council; and senior officials from ministries and government departments.
All government departments, private sector organisations and Emiratis and expatriates are expected to participate in the National Sports Day.
