The ad-hoc committee to look into the status of women working in nurseries and kindergartens and to improve their status has reviewed several new proposals.
The committee, chaired by Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, member of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) and comprising representatives from the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, the Ministry of Education and the Labour Fund “Tamkeen”, discussed ways to cooperate with the University of Bahrain to train the employees.
The training will involve child doctors and experts in nutrition and nursing and will be held in January, the committee agreed.
A partnership with the labour ministry and Tamkeen should support the salaries of the employees and provide adequate training workshops to boost their capabilities.
The committee also discussed covering some expenses for the employees and stressed the need to review several decisions and regulations related to extending working hours and amending the annual and summer leaves.
