Ways to promote relations between the UAE and Armenia, and regional and international issues of common concern were the focus of talks held on Wednesday between His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, who is on an official visit to the UAE.
Their meeting covered a number of topics, including economic and trade relations, investment, development and all aspects of co-operation to serve the common interests of both the countries and their people.
H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed stressed that the UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, seeks to enhance relations and co-operation with Armenia in various areas of mutual interest and achieve their common goals.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi further underlined supporting all initiatives that would enhance the UAE-Armenian relations and serve their common interests.
The Armenian President expressed his happiness at visiting the UAE and the warm welcome he received on arrival. He also wished for continued good health and well-being for H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed.
"This visit stems from Armenia's desire to bolster and promote relations with the UAE to serve the common interests of both countries and their peoples." President Sargsyan said, and expressed satisfaction about the advanced relations between the two countries in all political and economic matters.
The two statesmen also exchanged their views on the latest regional and international developments along with issues of mutual concern.
Senior UAE officials present at the meeting included Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council, FNC; H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Dr. Ahmad bin Abdulla Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education and head of the honorary mission accompanying the Armenian President; Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs; Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei; Ali Majed Al Mansouri, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development; Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Jassim Al Qasimi, Ambassador of the UAE to Armenia; Lt. General Isa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces; Major General Lt. General Juma Ahmed Al Bowardi Al Falasi, Adviser to Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Force, and other senior officials.
Armenian officials who attended the meeting alongside the President included Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration Armen Gevorgyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Eduard Nalbandian, Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan, Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, Armenian Ambassador to the UAE Gegham Gharibjanian and others.
