Abdullah bin Zayed visits UAE's Visa Centre in Jakarta

Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan yesterday visited the U.A.E.'s Visa Centre in Jakarta, which is the second overseas centre of its kind.
The centre is entrusted with enhancing cooperation in consular affairs, improving customer service standards and facilitating the processing of labourers' entry into the country through the e-gate when it comes to entry points.
Sheikh Abdullah was briefed on the day-to-day procedures at the centre which are in compliance with the international best practices in visa issuance. He also reviewed the world class visa system there that reduces the visa application and issuance time to the minimum.
The new visa centre serves 500 customers every day and uses passport authentication and biometrics such as fingerprints, retina prints, faceprints, and medical tests conducted at 27 medical centres accredited by the U.A.E. Ministry of Health in order to identity and prevent the entry of individuals with any contagious disease to save the cost of recruitment, quarantine and deportation and improve customer service as these are aimed at providing excellent consular services fulfilling internationally recognised standards.
Sheikh Abdullah was accompanied during his tour by the U.A.E. Ambassador to Indonesia, Ahmed Abdullah Al Musalli.
