Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister last Monday visited the Khalifa Award for Education pavilion at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2015, ADIBF.
Sheikh Abdullah was briefed on the award's two criteria, government education and higher education, as well as publications of winners.
Amal Al Afifi, Secretary-General of the Khalifa Award for Education, briefed Sheikh Abdullah on the progress of the award and the issues on the agenda of the award's current edition which comprise 11 fields such as higher education, government education, disabilities, education and community service in addition to education, sustainable environment and new media.
Education and creativity in the teaching of Arabic language, innovative educational projects, educational programmes and educational authoring for children and educational research were among the other fields.
Sheikh Abdullah was also briefed on the publications of award winners in the previous editions. He also listened to a presentation by Amal Al Afifi on the progress of the award and its role in enhancing the culture of innovation in the educational field at the local, regional and international level, especially in the field of innovation in teaching the Arabic Language which came as a translation as per the directives of the wise leadership regarding boosting of the national identity as well as giving importance to the Arabic Language.
At the end of the tour, Al Afifi presented the Award's Shield to Sheikh Abdullah.
