Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, attended this evening at Emirates Palace, the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day session, held to mark the 11th death anniversary of the late Sheikh bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Among others present were Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of the Cabinet Affairs, Hussein bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs, Deputy Chairman of the Khalifa Foundation and number of senior officials and sponsors of the Foundation's internal and external projects.
Sheikh Abdullah said, "The continuous support of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and follow up of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the initiative of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, made it a national landmark in the UAE's annual humanitarian agenda and occasion to compete for launching charity and humanitarian initiatives locally and externally."
He praised the agencies that had launched initiatives in and outside UAE, and contributed to enriching the sessions of the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day to make the humanitarian work a way of life for the UAE community to align with the leadership in love for charity and compete in service of community and nation.
The event commenced with the playing of national anthem followed with a documentary film on the achievements of the Khalifa Foundation in some countries.
Then Sheikh Abdullah honoured 90 sponsors who had contributed to supporting different projects of the Foundation. They included the Ministries, government agencies, banks, oil companies, charity and humanitarian bodies, and the media persons.
Sheikh Abdullah posed for memento photos with the audience and had Ramadan Iftar with them.
