Prime Minister Haydar el Abbadi arrived in the northern city of Mosul on Tuesday after liberating it from the control of Daesh terrorist group.
Abbadi, who doubles as the chief commander of the Armed Forces, arrived to the city in a helicopter with the military attire to inspect the Iraqi forces taking part in the operation.
Lt. General Abdel Amir Yarallah, the commander of operations, said in a press statement that the federal police and rapid response forces liberated the government building of the Nineveh City Hall and controlled al Horriya bridge on the Tigris River on the right coast of the city.
The liberation of the building is a great victory that will enhance the morale of soldiers for uprooting Daesh terrorists from Mosul; the stronghold of the terrorist organization in Iraq, he added.
