Dubai - Emirates Voice

A host of researchers, academia, industry leaders and regulators will attend the Middle East Health, Safety and Environment, HSE, Forum in Dubai next Tuesday.
Hosted by the Emirates National Oil Company, ENOC, and Energy Institute, the conference will discuss HSE challenges and opportunities facing the energy sector in the region.
Speakers include Ahmad Al Muhairbi, Secretary-General of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, DSCE, Zaid Alqufaidi, Managing-Director of Retail Management at ENOC, and Abdulla Al Marzooqi, Senior Vice President of HSE and RM at ADNOC.
The forum seeks to deliver essential learning and sharing about the best international practices to help improve the health, safety and environmental performance of organisations, foster a healthy and accident-free work culture, and ensure a sustainable environment.
Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Chief Executive Officer of ENOC Group, said, "Health, safety and environmental stewardship is non-negotiable for the energy industry. It is a critical component for this sector, which underpins the development of the nation and fuels the growth of its economy. An uninterrupted energy supply is essential, even as the region continues to become a magnet for both skilled and unskilled workers.
"EHS is a part of our DNA at ENOC. We have strong measures in place for operational excellence and the adoption of best safety practices. Over the years, our facilities have upheld the highest standards of safety and health contributing greatly to our success, both in the UAE and internationally. We welcome the HSE Forum as it raises the bar on EHS standards in the region’s energy sector," he added.
Louise Kingham OBE FEI, Chief Executive of the Energy Institute, who will chair the event, noted, "The HSE Forum is the key opportunity of 2017 to learn about the most up-to-date guidance, hear from those at the forefront of developing it, and engage with peers across the HSE community."
The forum will include a two-day technical conference on 16th and 17th May, followed by technical workshops on 18th May. These workshops will examine select topics in detail, while referencing relevant technical publications of the Energy Institute that already document knowledge, good practice and lessons learned.
