Majid Al Futtaim malls create great and heartfelt moments

Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East and North Africa, are creating great moments for moms across the region this Mother’s Day on March 21st with heart-warming activations to mark the special day.

The ‘Dear Mom, I will always need you’ campaign will be held in Majid Al Futtaim’s malls across the GCC and will allow people to show their love and appreciation towards their mothers. Shoppers who purchase a gift for their moms will be able to inscribe a special message inside a complimentary greeting card and capture their own photograph to add an extra personal touch. Colourfully designed backgrounds will be available to choose from to create a one-of-a-kind Mother’s Day surprise.

Mother’s Day is one of the highest card-sending holidays, and after the festive season, it is the second most popular holiday for giving gifts. The tradition of giving printed greeting cards as a meaningful expression of personal affection for another person has been recorded back to Europe in the 15th century, and even earlier to the early Egyptians who conveyed their greetings on papyrus scrolls.

Majid Al Futtaim’s malls in Dubai including Mall of the Emirates, City Centres Al Shindagha, Deira, Me’aisem and Mirdif invite visitors to use each of the mall’s Facebook pages and design their own heartfelt messages to their moms’ for Mother’s Day. They will then receive a voucher with a unique code that can be presented to malls Customer Service desks and enter into a Mother’s Day Draw that will be held on March 22nd. The lucky winner will be awarded with a Majid Al Futtaim Mother’s Day gift worth up to AED 5000.

In addition to greeting cards, City Centres Ajman, Fujairah and Sharjah in the Northern Emirates engage with social media fans as they offer an exciting video opportunity for uploading heartfelt Mother’s Day messages and tagging the malls with hashtags; #CCMothersDayGreatmoments and #CCMomIWillAlwaysNeedYou. The three participants with most liked videos will receive AED 1,000 each.

In Oman, between 20 - 21 March, City Centre Qurum and City Centre Muscat will give three shoppers in each mall, the chance to win a OMR 100 gift voucher for the most popular post showcasing their Mother’s Day gifts on social media using the hashtags #CCM/MothersDay or #CCQ/MothersDay.

Between 19th – 22nd March, City Centre Bahrain offers 100 lucky shoppers who purchase Mall Gift Cards of up to BD 40 the chance to avail another gift card worth BD 10. At the mall’s Customer Service desk, between 20th – 21st March, a decorative photo station, offering many humorous and loving props, will provide visitors with the chance to express their warm sentiments toward their moms and receive City Centre branded photographs to take home.

Using their social media platform, the mall will reward one lucky fan, who posts an image or video that is designed at the photo station and tags #CCBMothersDay, the chance to win a BD 100 gift card.
