Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s media adviser
Beirut – Georges Chahine
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s media adviser appeared to have been involved in the Samaha case, an investigation revealed. Former cabinet minister Michel Samaha intended to transfer explosives from Damascus
to Beirut with the intention to detonate them in Tripoli, Libya and Akkar, Lebanon. Assad’s media adviser Buthaina Shaaban’s involvement in the case was discovered when the investigative team found recorded conversation between Samaha and her discussing their terror plan.
Another enquiry on Friday should reveal more details about the tape recording taken in Samaha’s car.
Arabstoday broke the news two weeks ago as a special report disclosed that Samaha referred to Shaaban as “our lady” in recorded conversations.
