An elite group of Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah is participating in the GCC Girls Cultural and Social Forum, taking place in Manama, Bahrain, from May 5th to 11th, to discuss topics and issues that concern GCC girls.
Four girls from Sajaya : Shmasa Hassan Ali and Marwa Hamad AlShaer, Aisha Saif Alghawy, Jawaher Hussen Alnaqeeb are participating in the one-week forum as part of a UAE delegation under the umbrella of the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare, where Sajaya girls will present paperwork on Sajaya organisation and entrepreneurship.
Organised by Bahrain's General Organisation for Youth and Sports, the forum brings together a range of girls and young women from the six GCC nations to share opinions and expertise and speak about women entrepreneurship in the GCC countries.
HE Aisha Khalid Al Qasimi, Director of Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, highlighted the importance of GCC meetings that provide an important platform for girls in the GCC countries to exchange views and expertise, emphasizing that such events reflect the visions and directives of the GCC leaders aiming at activating the role of girls and honing their talents in various walks of life.
She said: "The participation of Sajaya girls in this event forms part of our strategy and eagerness to effectively participate in such programmes that aim to open up new horizons for Emirati girls, develop their leadership skills and motivate them to represent their country in various local, regional and international forums honorably. Our participation is also in line with the vision and directives of HH Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, to support young girls and empower them, thus reflecting the positive image of Emirati girls."
HE Aisha thanked the Department of Youth and Cultural Activates at the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare for their efforts and support for such cultural programmes. She wished the forum all the success in achieving its desired goals and that the Emirati girls would benefit from this cultural gathering, attended by many girls from the GCC countries.
The forum's agenda will feature presentations on entrepreneurship where Sajaya girls will give a presentation on Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah and its role in supporting entrepreneurship. Poetry recitation, story readings, competitions and discussions on topics concerning GCC women, will also be held.
The forum will also include visits to women's organisations and Girls and cultural Centres, alongside workshops, entertaining and sports contests, and cultural activities and visits to Bahrain's tourist landmarks and monuments.
