Khalifa University has an established medicine department
Khalifa University has announced that it will be hosting a fun and informative \"Med-Camp\" this summer for UAE students in Grades 10 and 11 who are interested pursuing a career in medicine.
The
first camp of its kind to be held in the UAE promises to be a one-of-a-kind summer programme designed to offer a unique experience to potential medical students.
The one-week camp will take place on June 23, and will incorporate fun, hands-on activities that will introduce students to the field of medicine, health, and wellness.
The activities include hands on learning modules, problem solving scenarios and motivational seminars.
The camp will be run by Khalifa University students and faculty, who will deliver the five-day programme. It will also feature local doctors and healthcare practitioners who will present seminars to the participants.
\"The camp facilitators will be our own Khalifa University students,\" stated Dr Rashed Al Nuaimi, Executive Director, Khalifa University’s College of Medicine & Health Sciences.
\"The key to motivating young learners, who will become the leaders of tomorrow, is to provide realistic and achievable goals that they can relate to, and no one can do this better than the talented young adults that attend our programme. They possess the knowledge and skills the younger students desire to obtain.
\"We have chosen to host the Med-Camp at our Abu Dhabi campus, because we believe that this programme will enhance the quality of life and health of the population throughout the country, and we feel that this is part of our responsibility as a public institution, in addition, this camp will help the UAE encourage their young adult population to pursue the health sciences as per the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030,\" he explained.
