The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) in Hail organized a workshop for World Bank experts on Thursday, in the presence of Hail Mayor Ibrahim Aburas and Faisal Madani, director of the SCTH branch in the province.
They reviewed plans and studies concerning the development of Hail’s historical downtown and old neighborhoods, and the best ways to overcome challenges in this regard.
The World Bank experts met with Khaled bin Ali Al-Saif, chairman of the board of the Hail Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to discuss the possibility of private-sector investment in the historical downtown.
The experts also met with Fouad Al-Gasab, executive chairman of the High Commission for Development of Hail Region, and discussed the commission’s vision for the development of historical downtown.
Madani said the visit of the experts came in the context of studies carried out by the World Bank, in cooperation with the SCTH, to develop historical sites in the Kingdom. He added that the SCTH has started a project with the bank to promote investment in historical towns
