Egyptian secuity forces in North Sinai
Egyptian security officials have confirmed that a 21-year-old student in possession of a firearm has been arrested in North Sinai.
Security personnel stormed the Industrial Secondary School in
Sheikh Zayed City, Giza governorate, during an exam, to detain the individual in question.
Samih Ahmad Bshadi, North Sinai Security manager told reporters that the pupil carried a weapon in a cylindrical safe in his car. During questioning, he admitted to using the firearm and several other weapons during the kidnapping of three people from the North Sinai region.
Bshadi confirmed that the accused had been transported to a prison in the North Sinai province, with a court appearance expected later in the week.
