Ajman Tourism Development Department, ATDD, Training Section has launched a programme to train UAE secondary school students in all hotel aspects of operations, in a step aiming to enhance Emiratisation efforts in the various tourism sectors.
Head of ATDD Training Section, Asmaa Al Beloushi, said, "The programme aims to encourage UAE nationals to work in the tourism sector in order to increase the percentage of Emirati employees in the various tourism facilities; a target which goes in line with Ajman Vision 2021 and ATDD's strategic plan.
"The first phase of the programme, implemented in cooperation with the Ajman Palace Hotel, continued for one month," said Al Beloushi, saying that eight students were involved.
The second phase, due to begin in April, will include 20 female students, she said, adding that ATDD would develop the training programme to include more UAE nationals.
"ATDD Tourism Classification Section currently offers training courses for UAE locals who would like to obtain a tourist guide license in the Emirate of Ajman," Al Beloushi concluded.
