Abu Dhabi University's College of Engineering has received international accreditation from the world-renowned prestigious Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, after its success in passing international standards and procedures implemented by the commission to ensure quality of education, curricula, learning outcomes and a high calibre of graduates.
Commenting on this new accolade, Ali Saeed bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Chairman of Abu Dhabi University's Board of Directors, explained that receiving this international accreditation translates ADU's mission and its eagerness to develop academic programmes that meet the educational needs of the policy agenda of Abu Dhabi's Government and its Economic Vision 2030.
Receiving international accreditation has also been one of the main goals highlighted in Abu Dhabi University's new five year strategic plan 2014 -2019.
Mr Al Dhaheri pointed out that the University will continue to seek the highest international standards, through other programmes offered at ADU in different disciplines which are currently also seeking international accreditation from specialised accreditation bodies.
Dr. Nabil Ibrahim, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University, said, "Receiving the ABET accreditation for the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering that are offered through ADU's College of Engineering is such a wonderful start to the new semester of the upcoming academic year."
