Sharjah Media Corporation
Sharjah - Arab Today

Sharjah Media Corporation Sharjah 2 Channel, one of Sharjah Media Corporation's channels, has launched a range of religious awareness programmes as part of its new season line-up. The new programmes address important aspects of the lenient Sharia'a that educate a large audience of non-Arabic speaking people in the country and abroad. The new line-up is in line with the development series adopted by the channel in introducing programmes that are in compliance with the spirit of Islam as well as the requirements of modern life.
The new line-up includes seven important programmes that address topics related to interpretation, Islamic moral values, ethics, and code of behaviour. Three of the seven programmes are in the Persian language, another three in English and one in Urdu.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohammed Jamal Wazir, Manager of Programmes for Non-Arabic Speaking in Sharjah 2 Channel, said, "We are constantly striving to develop our programmes for non-Arabic speaking people, taking into consideration the viewers' feedback. We seek to introduce programmes that are in line with the values of tolerance and peace which are prevailing in the country, as well as other important aspects of Sharia'a that non-Arabic speaking people need to have access to." The Persian programmes include "Faith in our Lives", which will be presented by Abdullah Ramadan Kashtakar, and will address the role of faith in life, development, progress, as well as personal and public civilisation. The other two programmes in the Persian language are "Divine Call" and "Women in Islam", presented by Mohammed Rasoul Hashimi and Ramadan Kashtakar, respectively. The former calls for reflection on verses of Allah and worship of Allah through existence, while the latter presents comprehensive tips and guidance, and answers so many questions about women in worship, principles, and values.
Wazir added: "The new programmes of Sharjah 2 Channel were designed to meet the requirements of guidance and awareness in Islamic thought, jurisprudence, beliefs, morals, and interpretation in addition to aspects related to women we will continue providing new programmes whenever needed in line with the continuous directives of delivering meaningful media content to this large and important segment of non-Arabic speaking viewers inside the country and abroad.
There is also an Urdu program titled "Names of Allah" which will be presented by Sheikh Mohammed Bamin and will address interpretation of the names of Allah, their analysis and importance in religion and life. The English programmes included "Ethics and Islamic Morals", "Signs of Day of Judgment", and "Holy Quran Treasures" which will be presented by Tahir Khalid and Dr Mamdouh Nour Al Din. The programmes will present verses from the Holy Quran and how to extract important quotes that support the faith and belief in values of love, tolerance, and peace.
