Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, on Wednesday met with a group of editors-in-chief, directors of news centres and journalists from Arab and international media organisations at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai.
The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs; and Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Director-General of the Dubai government Media Office, President of Dubai Press Club and Chair of the Organising Committee of the 14th Arab Media Forum.
During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed and the journalists talked about Arab and media issues, as well as poetry and literature.
He urged the journalists to ask questions about any topic of interest for them.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed told his guests that the UAE is a leader in various spheres, in development and modernisation in particular. He noted that the UAE enhances the effective and positive role of its national human resources and their creativity in all scientific, economic and technological spheres, thanks to its strong will, determination and positive attitude. .
The journalists said they were proud to meet H.H. Sheikh Mohammed whom they described as a leader, poet and prominent personality whose creative ideas turned Dubai to a model of success and welfare for other cities around the world.
They also hailed the Arab Media Forum as the only gathering place in the Arab Region for media people from all Arab countries, and as a forum for free discussion.
