Brand Dubai, a subsidiary of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO), has launched a new project in collaboration with the Global Village marking the 19th season themed "Make Your Senses Come Alive". The project is part of Brand Dubai's drive to add creative glimpse to the districts of Dubai and introduce the city as home of art.
Brand Dubai and Global Village agreed to implement the project in two parts. The first part includes covering selective buildings in the village with distinguished art works, and the second part is beatifying the pedestrian bridges crossing the water canal centring the village.
A host of creative and talented artists will carry out the works which include variety of art movements and styles. The works are set to add value to the global event that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors and continue for 157 days.
Commenting on the new project, GDMO's Director of Communications and Innovation Noora Al Abbar, said, "Brand Dubai aspires to add to artistic features of Dubai, adopting in its approach various cultural components and art movements. Dubai is a city of illustrious and diverse mosaic elements that in general compose a unique and colourful tableau. Brand Dubai does not only highlight Dubai's overall image, but also celebrates the city's original characteristics.
Chief Operating Officer of Global Village Ahmad Hussain bin Essa, said, "Global Village's management is keen to present new and exciting things every new season. Our 18th season was a big success, and we hope to pursue this success in the 19th season. Our cooperation with Brand Dubai allows us to introduce new artistic attractions for or guests.
Brand Dubai is following and overseeing the new designs to assure compliance with the project's vision. The art works in the Global Village will mix nature with reality to form a new concept and meanwhile reflect the artist's feelings and expression.
