Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC), said that the parliamentary media has become the focus of parliamentary contemporary life, both in terms of its role in the expression of public opinion or in terms
of its responsibility in transmitting the details of Parliamentary works and explaining and commenting on them.
He stressed this in a speech during the opening of the "Parliamentary Media Forum", organised by the Federal National Council in collaboration with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in the Raffles Dubai Hotel, saying that the Parliamentary Media, which is interacting closely with the requirements of the various aspects of parliamentary work, is a key element for supplementing the parliamentary role and activating political participation.
The opening of the Forum was attended by the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Abdelwahad Radi, Abdul Rahman Salim Al Hajri, Sharjah Consultative Council Speaker, Noureddine Bouchkouj, Secretary-General of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, Bahraini House of Representatives' Acting General-Secretary, Jamal Jassim Zuwayd, along with members of the Advisory Council of the Emirate of Sharjah and members of the Federal National Council in addition to a number of officials and journalists.
The forum was also attended by a number of deputy ministers, directors of local and federal departments, directors of communication and information in ministries and local institutions, academics from universities in the UAE and university students
