Lexus Los Angeles - Arabstoday Toyota brands came out on top in the 14th annual ALG Residual Value Awards, held in Los Angeles on Monday night. The Japanese company picked up nine awards in total – six for Toyota, two for Lexus and one for Scion. Honda and Acura picked up the big awards for top Mainstream and Premium brands. Acura returns to the top ranking among Premium brands after a two-year gap while Honda ranks highest after a three-year gap. The winners were revealed during the Los Angeles Auto Show. The ceremony rewards vehicles in each category that are forecast to retain the highest percentage of manufacturer\'s suggested retail price (MSRP) after three years. ALG consider a number of factors, including fellow nominations, historical vehicle performance and industry trends. In the best Midsize car category, the Honda Accord came out on top with the Subaru Legacy in second and the redesigned Nissan Altima in third.In the best Compact car category, Hyundai Elantra ranked highest with the Scion TC and Mazda3 completing the top three. In Mainstream brands, Hyundai ranked second behind Honda. Scion, part of the Residual Value Award rankings for the first time, ranked third. In Premium brands, Acura beat Infiniti and Audi to the top spot. Lexus won awards for their redesigned GS and LS models.
