French car makers
Car sales in France went down by 19.2 percent in November, with French car making firms taking a major hit. The French automobile manufacturers’ association, CCFA, confirmed that there has been a 13.8 percent
decline in sales every month in the first 11 months of the year.
French carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroen, the second-biggest European vehicle manufacturer saw a drop of 22.9 percent, and Renault reported a plunge of 33.5 percent.
Foreign brands performed better, with South Korea’s Hyundai-Kia reporting a fall of 20.5 percent in sales, but Daimler, which owns Mercedes-Benz and Smart, posting a 13.8 percent increase.
November saw a total of 144,694 new cars registered in France.
