The German carmaker has posted a new video online that gives cryptic clues of what to expect from its LA Auto Show car show.
And although the clip runs to little more than a minute, it looks like Audi could have something special to reveal later this month.
The company had been expected to reveal some sort of conceptual successor to the R8 supercar but it is now clear that Audi has something much bigger planned.
Although the car is kept literally under wraps for most of the video, its silhouette clearly shows that it is going to be a large luxury coupe or GT car -- an executive fastback.
According to Marc Lichte, Audi's new head of design and the video's narrator, the concept will represent his vision of what Audi stands for now and in the future and will be a perfect blend of the things that have established the brand in recent years.
The car will have performance and Quattro permanent all-wheel drive, will be perfectly proportioned like its large executive sedans, and will embody the styling and emotional notes that made the original TT coupé a global hit.
Expect the teaser video to be the first of many sneak peeks that Audi offers in the run up to the LA Auto Show which gets underway on November 19.
