Latest issue boasts an eclectic range of garden-related content
With nearly 15,000 downloads since its launch in October 2012, intoGardens, the innovative iPad-only gardening title, today unveils its third episode. The spring 2013 episode offers
specially commissioned films, writing from some of the top names in horticulture, full screen images from award winning photographers and tap to buy functionality throughout.
Costing £2.99 per episode, or £9.99 for an annual subscription, intoGardens is aimed at the 3.8 million gardeners in the UK and millions more worldwide who actively pursue their passion online.
The latest issue boasts an eclectic range of garden-related content including desert gardens, San Francisco\' most exciting plant shop, gardening for cocktails, an exclusive Toby Buckland film, the perfect family garden, James Alexander-Sinclair\'s pick of spring plants, Chelsea Flower Show borders deconstructed, John Hoyland\'s favourite annuals, garden reviews from the Outback to China, book reviews with author readings and much, much more.
The episode offers a multimedia experience specifically designed to make full use of the interactivity that the tablet platform offers. If you are interested in one of Auricula varieties explored in our special feature or one of the plant picks for spring, intoGardens offers tap-to-buy functionality allowing you to purchase the plant there and then. Alternatively you can save images to a personalised online scrapbook allowing you to make notes and start building your very own digital reference library to provide continued inspiration throughout the year.
Book reviews also include audio files of authors, featuring in this episode Carl Klein reading from her new book Wild Flowers and Laetitia Maklouf reading from Sweet Peas for Summer. Other articles are brought to life with specially commissioned films including, in this episode, Toby Buckland giving hands on allotment advice and garden designer Adman Frost showing us how to cook pizzas in an outdoor oven.
Reviews of gardens from around the world include the Australian Outback, Singapore, Brazil, Ireland and Marrakech with each one combining evocative writing and full screen photographs that exploit the superior imaging possible with the iPad’s backlit, high-resolution technology.
Devised and developed by media and gardening experts, the team behind intoGardens includes internationally renowned garden designer, writer and presenter James Alexander-Sinclair, and Tiffany Daneff, an editor with other 15 years experience in gardening and lifestyle publications including Daily Telegraph Gardening, Saga Magazine and Gardenlife Magazine.
