The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Dubai Culture, has joined hands with Dubai Airports to showcase a spectacular art piece at Dubai International Airport, Terminal 3 Arrivals, welcoming visitors the moment they touch down in the city.
The art installation is an addition to the continuing series of artistic events as part of the second Dubai Art Season, the umbrella initiative of Dubai Culture. Dubai Airport is partnering as part of a long-term collaboration with Dubai Culture to create more opportunities for artists to display their creations.
Lubna Al Shamsi, Project Leader of Dubai Art Season and SIKKA Art Fair, said, "Dubai Culture is committed to providing platforms for international and local art enthusiasts by bringing new forms of public art to the city. Through our collaboration with Dubai Airports, we are underlining the culture and arts of the city to people from all over the world. Our aim is to showcase the rich Emirati culture to visitors and provide them a glimpse of the cultural experience that awaits them in the city."
The dome-like art piece is made up of street cones, intricately positioned to create a visionary fragment of artwork.
Dubai Art Season strives to preserve the aspects of Emirati heritage by nurturing local talent to enhance the city's cultural diversity and social cohesion through a diverse selection of events within Dubai.
