David and Victoria Beckham welcome their newborn baby Harper Seven Beckham into the world in LA
Victoria and David Beckham have finally welcomed their long-awaited daughter into the world. Victoria gave birth to baby Harper Seven Beckham yesterday morning at Cedars Sinai hospital
in Los Angeles. Just like her three other brothers, Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 5, Harper was born by elected Caesarean. News of the birth broke on Twitter when the couple’s spokesman Simon Oliveira, tweeted: \"David & Victoria Beckham are delighted to announce the birth of their daughter. Happy and healthy she arrived at 7.55am this morning at Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles and weighed 7lbs 10oz.\"
Congratulations messages by thousands of fans on the networking site followed the announcement including Victoria’s fellow ‘Spice Girls’ Mel B and Emma Bunton.
Mel B, who is also pregnant with her third child, tweeted: \'Congrats!!! Yipeee another spice baby is born, damn it wish it was me this AM cos I feel like I\'m about to POP!\'
And Emma Bunton added: \'Big kiss to @victoriabeckham can\'t wait to meet your gorgeous little girl!\'
Joanne Beckham, David’s sister, tweeted: \'Big congrats to my sister in law @victoriabeckham and my big bro on the birth of my beautiful niece :) can\'t wait 2 see u all xx\'
Later on in the evening David announced the birth and expressed his happiness on his Facebook page saying: \"I am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham,\" he added: \"She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and arrived at 7.55 this morning, here in LA. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx.\"
It is said that the newborn was named Harper because the couple have always liked the name because it is an \"old English name.” As for the middle name Seven, that goes back to the sporting history of David and his famous player number “7” when he played for Manchester United and for England.
Congratulations to the happy couple.
