Egyptian actress Randa al-Beheiry
Egyptian actress Randa al-Beheiry is anxiously awaiting the release of her latest action film “Saboba”. In an exclusive interview with Arabstoday, Randa revealed "I play a character named Princess. She is the daughter
of an Egyptian Mafia leader and falls in love with one of her father's closest associates, played by Khaled Hamzawi."
"The film is a collaborative work with all the actors and crew involved. The only real star is the director," she explained.
The actress hoped the role would add to her resume since it shows her in a different character than one she normally plays. "The film has a strong message: that good always triumphs over evil, no matter what," Randa added. The film is due to release on December 5.
She denied claims that a popular dance song was featured in the film purely to attract audiences, "The song was actually vital to add to the dramatic revelations in the film's scene," she explained.
Randa has featured in four television shows last Ramadan and hoped that television shows in the Arab world would run throughout the year and not just during Ramadan.
She also told Arabstoday that working on radio shows was more challenging that working in drama, "I accepted my role in Wahat al-Ghoroub without reading the script. When I heard the script was by the great writer Bahaa Taher, I knew I couldn't refuse."
